Each day is special and unique .
Oh cool. Today several things happened. First and foremost, I know I'm slow but I didn't realise so many HaiSians take bus 5 to and/or from school daily, seeing so many HaiSians alighting from bus 5 in the morning to get to school.
Next, it is Dev's birthday today. Happy birthday to Dev! Haha... Hud gave him several light punches to his shoulder before F&N started(we were in the same F&N class) and during Social Studies, where everyone just sang a birthday song to him on the spot without Ms Leung knowing it was his birthday at first.
After that, I was surprised to have managed to go through an hour of Social Studies without falling asleep(Ms Leung, if ur reading this, it's an improvement :D) even though my eyes were closing once in a while. Tip: Only switch off the front-most lights and not ALL the lights in the classroom!
Towards the end of the lesson, Ms Leung gave us a Debate on whether or not a British Welfare State(something like that) would work or not and whether it should stay. The class was split into two, and Glenn was the leader of the Proposition Team while I was the leader of the Opposition Team. It was a great thing for me, as Debate was the topic for my Project I and I've had some experience in it already. So, the first Opposition speaker would be Nico. The second would be Hud. The third, Dev and the Reply(fourth) speaker, me. More on this will be discussed on Wednesday.
After school during Maths Afternoon Program, the Maths HOD Ms Lindy Ong came over to our class to give us a talk on the privileges we have on studying Express Elementary Mathematics at 3NA level and that we should not be lazy and start working hard for the whole of next month to get back our grades. This would in turn enable us to take the E. Maths 'O' Level papers next year and skip E. Maths during Secondary 5, taking 6 subjects instead of 7. For me, all I need right now is 5% more for both my E. and A. Maths to get a 50% score in Term 1, according to my Report Card. I'll do my best to buck up xD
After Maths Afternoon Programme, our class had pizza at the canteen. Ordered and paid by Ms Leung, it was to thank and congratulate us for the efforts we put in for the maze during the Hai Carnival last Saturday. I only ate 1 piece of pizza while the average number of pizzas the others took were between 3 - 5 pieces. I threw all the vegetables back into one of the empty boxes and only ate the bread, cheese and meat on my own.
Lastly, we had to do some Community Involvement Program(CIP) stuff. It involved classes 3E1, 3E5 and 3N1. The guys were to move dozens of pots of plants from the new block all the way down to the garden between the canteen and the alternative space while the girls simply had to do some gardening with their hands. At first, we thought it looked easy shifting the middle-sized pots from the 4th floor to the staircase landings, gathering all the pots before moving them down altogether. Little did we realise it was much tougher than expected, with even bigger and heavier pots of plants on the 2nd and 3rd floors. Every guy perspired, and most of us were drenched in sweat.
Initially, we really used our energy to lift the pots up from the ground, but after Chun Hou from 3E1 taught us to slide the pots downwards on the stairs but holding the base firmly, it became much easier and much more fun for us. After about an hour, until 4.30pm, of shifting and moving pots of plants from the new block to the new block's first floor, the rest of the guys simply put the pots on a trolley and brought them over to the garden between the canteen and the alternative space, where we finally got to rest.
